I was born and raised in New Jersey, and have always had a passion for learning and speaking in front of groups. I realized at a very early age ( 6 years old ) that public speaking and educating were going to be major factors in my life as an adult.
A vivid imagination allowed me to literally see myself in front of crowds of people teaching, inspiring, and making them happy. I remember sitting the neighborhood children down, (who were my same age at the time) giving each of them a book, having them read aloud and helping them with pronunciation. I was also very much a girly-girl. My hair, skin, and clothes had to be perfect. I played with dolls and shampooed and styled their hair. After dressing them up in pretty clothes, where did they go? To school! And who was the teacher… ME!
Fast forward, I attended Cosmetology school, graduated and began my career as a young and excited hairstylist. Now 31 years later, I gratefully reflect on my Cosmetology career. Throughout my years I have enjoyed work as a stylist, salon owner, school instructor, skin and makeup specialist with Lancome Cosmetics, and National Educator for Nexxus and Paul Mitchell.
My current position as Executive Director of Education for Pretty In a Minute has brought each accomplishment in my professional career full circle. I get to pour into our amazing team of platform artist and build lasting relationships with awesome beauty institutions like yours!
Though I feel that I have the best job ever, I still believe that as a professional in the best industry in the world, evolution is constant and necessary to bring more value to where you currently stand. In 2017, I became certified as a Hair Loss Specialist through USTI. In 2018, I gained another certification as a Hair Loss Practitioner. In 2019, I will have completed my clinicals becoming a certified Trichologist. My reasons to continue my evolution? So that I may continue to grow and in some small way, be an inspiration to my industry family leading by example.
