Hair Loss and Thinning Hair Can Be Prevented

Using hair care products and tools properly will help you continue to have healthy hair that is Pretty in a Minute. But there are some things that we do to our hair that can lead to hair loss, the Los Angeles Times reported.

1. Hair extensions
Hair extensions can cause traction alopecia, which is hair loss caused by by continual pulling, leading to inflammation in the follicles. Hair that is pulled from braiding, weaving and hair extensions as well as hair that is consistently pulled back in a tight ponytail or bun leads to damaged hair follicles, resulting in permanent hair loss.

2. Blow drying with high heat

Avoid doing this daily, as it can cause damage to the hair follicles.

3. Washing your hair before bed

If your hair is not dry when you go to bed and you wrap it in a ponytail, you could get a fungal infection. Dry hair completely and never sleep in a tight ponytail, experts said.

4. Washing your hair wrong

You don’t need to shampoo all of your hair, just the scalp. And use conditioner from the ears down only.

5. Don’t use dry shampoo

Dry shampoo can leave tiny fibers and chemicals sitting on your scalp, which can cause contact dermatitis and shedding.

6. Don’t drink water without minerals Mineral-rich and pure spring waters like Evian, Vittel, Acqua Panna and Volvic feed your body and your hair.

7. Don’t forget the vitamins

Deficiencies in vitamin D, iron and ferritin can result in hair loss, so ask your doctor about supplements if you’re experiencing hair loss.

8. Don’t eat junk food

You may be losing hair because you’re not getting the right nutrients. Try to eat more essential fatty acids, minerals, and proteins for optimal hair growth.
